Auxonne, Musée Bonaparte
The Bonaparte Museum recalls the time of Bonaparte at the Auxonne Artillery School at the time of the Revolution in 1789, and the First and Second Empire.

Châtillon-sur-Seine, Musée du Châtillonnais
Since 1950 the Philandrier House on the Rue du Bourg, opposite St. Nicholas church, has housed the rich collections of the museum of Chatillon, which had been founded in 1886. The building is the most handsome Renaissance mansion in the town.

Clamecy, Musée d'Art et d'Histoire Romain Rolland
The Clamecy Museum has been entirely renovated since 2005 and has very varied collections, shown off within a well-suited setting. It occupies the former mansion of the Duke de Bellegarde, the house where Romain Roland was born, which belonged to his grandfather, and a modern extension where the visitor enters. Here can be seen contemporary pictures given to President François Mitterrand;Gallic-Roman and Merovingian archeology; paintings and sculpture from the 16th to 21st centuries; an exceptional collection of Charles Loupot posters; old faience; souvenirs of Romain Rolland, and an evocation of floating wood down rivers.

Dijon, Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne Perrin de Puycousin

The Perrin de Puycousin Museum of Burgundy Life, located in the cloister of the Bernadine Monastery, provides a collection of rural ethnography (costumes, moveable possessions etc) and urban ethnography (daily life in Dijon from the 18th to the beginning of the 20th centuries).


Mâcon, Musée Lamartine
The Lamartine Museum occupies the first floor of the Seneca Mansion, acquired in 1896 by the Mâcon Academy. Created by it in 1969 to mark the centenary of the poet's death, it was renovated in 1990 by the town of Mâcon, which took over its operation and management.

Nevers, Musée de la Faïence Frédéric Blandin

The museum is located in the potters' quarter, in the former abbey of Notre-Dame. Following renovations and expansion, specially suited areas hold the ceramics and glassware and the varied collections.


Nuits-Saint-Georges, Musée d'Histoire et d'Archéologie
The archeology collections are displayed in the basement of a former wine house. Upstairs a special exhibition puts on display every year a new aspect of the regional heritage.

Closed during the 1990s and taken over by the town of Paray-le-Monial since 2001, the museum underwent a total renovation handled by the architects Catherine Frenak et Béatrice Jullien, which was completed in September 2005.


Blanzy, Musée de l'Association La Mine et les Hommes
Follow the tracks of the blackened faces! Learn about the miners' world, their living and working conditions, and equipment of the time: lamproom, mine, headgear, colliery winder. At the end, galleries from the French Revolutionary period until the 1990s, where operating methods, and means of transportation, communication, ventilation and safety are retraced. The plough bed with moving ground support is an ultramodern machine, unique in France.
