Sarcophagi of Mers-Es-‘Imen and Neb-Ef

Cover for the sarcophagus of Setch-Set-Tay-Ba

Egypt, 26th dynasty
stuccoed and painted wood (L. approx. 1.80 m)

Auguste Grasset Museum, Varzy

An analysis of what is inscribed on the first sarcophagus shows that it was used at different periods by two persons, Mer-es-‘Imen, the "first occupant", and et Neb-ef "the usurper".
