La Charité-sur-Loire, musée municipal

The museum was set up in 1954 by V. Gautron du Coudray based on his own collections, and over the years has been added to with sculptures by Alfredo Pina, an assistant to Rodin, decorative objects from the period 1880-1930, the tools of a file cutter, of whom there were many in the canton in the 19th century, and above all archeological items from the great Cluny priory of La Charité (11th-16thcenturies).

The museum is a partner in the Festival of Harmony of the Nièvre, which takes place at La Charité sur Loire from 12 - 18 September 2005, to evoke the practice of amateur music in the Nièvre from the 19th century until today. With flutes, flageolets, saxophones and ophicléides, programmes, scores and group photos, this exhibition seeks to be a tribute to the musicians of the choir companies of yesteryear and today's orchestras.
