Cluny, Musée d'art et d'archéologie, Palais Jean de Bourbon
An independent residential building, the palace built by the Abbot Jean de Bourbon in the second half of the 15th century, close to the main entrance, occupies a special position above the site of the abbey of Cluny.
It was spared the vandalism of the Revolution and was then purchased by a resident of Cluny, Jean-Baptiste Ochier. It assumed its present role as museum following a gift by the widow of a Cluny doctor in 1864. Two years later the new museum opened its doors.

Dijon, Musée archéologique
The collections come from all over the Côte-d'Or. Set up initially by the Departmental Antiquities Commission, they were installed in the dormitory of the St. Bénigne abbey from 1930. The museum has been run by the municipality since 1955.

La Charité-sur-Loire, musée municipal

The museum was set up in 1954 by V. Gautron du Coudray based on his own collections, and over the years has been added to with sculptures by Alfredo Pina, an assistant to Rodin, decorative objects from the period 1880-1930, the tools of a file cutter, of whom there were many in the canton in the 19th century, and above all archeological items from the great Cluny priory of La Charité (11th-16thcenturies).

Musée de Bibracte - Saint-Léger-sous-Beuvray
The museum is located at the foot of Mount Beuvray, where once was ancient Bibracte, capital of the Haedui, a Gallic people. It is both a window onto ongoing archeological research and onto the overall Celtic civilisation.

Nuits-Saint-Georges, Musée d'Histoire et d'Archéologie
The archeology collections are displayed in the basement of a former wine house. Upstairs a special exhibition puts on display every year a new aspect of the regional heritage.

Semur-en-Auxois, musée municipal
The museum of Semur-en-Auxois was created in 1834 and entirely renovated 10 years ago. It owes its originality to the 19th century museum layout that has happily been preserved, which shows the collections off to particular advantage.

Sens, Musées

The former archbishops' palace, next to the cathedral of Sens, is gradually taking in and putting into a coherent whole all the collections of Sens. These are the collections of the town of Sens, of the Sens Archeological Society, and of the State (the treasures of the cathedral and of the Bishops' Palace).

Solutré, Musée départemental de Préhistoire

The Solutré Museum presents the collections from one of the richest prehistoric sites in Europe. This was a hunting site used for for over 25,000 years by men of the Upper Paleolithic Age (from 35,000 to 10,000 B.C.), who came to hunt, dismember and smoke thousands of horses and reindeer. The Solutré archeological and botanical park, laid out on the archeological site, completes the visit to the museum. It lets you discover a wide variety of vegetable species that are characteristic of this area as well as the key results of the archeological digs.
