The museum is located in the potters' quarter, in the former abbey of Notre-Dame. Following renovations and expansion, specially suited areas hold the ceramics and glassware and the varied collections.
Alise-Sainte-Reine, Musée Alesia The Alesia Museum was laid out by the Semur Society of Sciences in 1910 and holds mementos of the Siege of 52 BC, as well as items of architecture, many sculptures and a very rich collection of objects from daily life found in the excavations of the Gallic-Roman town. MUSEUM CLOSED. The new Alesia Museum-cum-Park Archeological Museum will open to the public in 2011.
Semur-en-Auxois, musée municipal The museum of Semur-en-Auxois was created in 1834 and entirely renovated 10 years ago. It owes its originality to the 19th century museum layout that has happily been preserved, which shows the collections off to particular advantage.

Musée des Beaux-arts de Montbard The Museum, which was founded in 1938, was reinstalled in the chapel of Buffon Institution in 1980. The sculpture section presents works by Burgundy artists such as Eugène Guillaume, born in Montbard (1822-1905). Summer photographic exhibitions.
